JOHANNESBURG – Johannesburg Water announced today that Diepsloot will face water throttling measures tomorrow as part of an expanded effort to manage the city’s increasingly strained water resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The water utility will implement a 12-hour throttling period in Diepsloot from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, during which residents can expect reduced water pressure or possible interruptions in service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This decision comes as Johannesburg Water reports concerning increases in water consumption across several areas, pushing the system’s capacity to its limits.”These measures are necessary to regulate demand and protect our reservoir capacities,” said a Johannesburg Water spokesperson. “By implementing controlled throttling, we aim to stabilize the overall supply network and ensure consistent water availability for all residents in the long term.”The throttling will affect multiple reservoirs and water towers throughout Diepsloot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
