Residents of Diepsloot Extensions 4 and 8 say they have been without electricity for nearly two months, leaving families in the dark and increasingly vulnerable to crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Community members told Diepsloot News that when they visited Eskom\u2019s Sunninghill offices, officials there claimed to have no record of the prolonged outage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Locals allege, however, that they have been engaging with an Eskom official on the ground who informed them that the delay is due to a shortage of transformers that still need to be installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Frustrated residents say they have also sought help from Ward Councillor Julius Maake, popularly known as Cllr wa Straata, but accuse him of \u201csending them from pillar to post\u201d without providing any tangible solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With crime levels in Diepsloot already high, residents say the absence of electricity has left them even more exposed and unsafe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Diepsloot News is still reaching out to Eskom for official comment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
