Johannesburg \u2014 Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre owners and practitioners across South Africa now have free access to digital and business management training, thanks to a new learning pathway launched on Digify Africa\u2019s Kitso WhatsApp bot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new feature, called Digital Foundations for ECD Success, aims to help centre owners formalise their businesses, improve day-to-day operations, and deliver quality early learning. The learning pathway is available at no cost and is designed to be practical and mobile-first, meaning ECD practitioners can learn directly on WhatsApp at their own pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Kitso bot was first introduced as a tool to promote internet safety and digital literacy for parents and teachers. With this expansion, Kitso now serves as a broader digital learning platform that supports parents, educators, and ECD owners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Developed in partnership with Innovation Edge, an investor in early childhood solutions, the programme focuses on equipping practitioners with essential skills. These include how to register their centres, manage them more efficiently, and grow sustainably using digital tools and business basics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cECD centres play a critical role in laying the foundation for lifelong learning,\u201d said Gavin Weale, Founder and CEO of Digify Africa. \u201cBy meeting practitioners on a platform they already use \u2014 WhatsApp \u2014 we are making this training accessible, scalable, and aligned with national efforts to strengthen early childhood education.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The launch comes at a time when government is investing R1.7 billion into strengthening the ECD sector. Digify Africa hopes the Kitso pathway will complement these efforts by empowering those working on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
