Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni led another successful multidisciplinary High-Density Operation in Honeydew and Cosmo City, which resulted in multiple arrests and the closure of several non-compliant liquor outlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the operation, which took place about 13 hours ago, formed part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and ensure public safety in Gauteng. During a roadblock, more than 20 motorists were arrested for drunk driving, while over 50 undocumented foreign nationals were apprehended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police further confirmed that 18 liquor outlets were shut down for failing to comply with the Liquor Act, while five others were closed for possession of drugs. In a separate operation, provincial detectives arrested 700 wanted suspects overnight \u2014 including 152 linked to crimes against women and children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lieutenant General Mthombeni emphasized that such high-density operations are crucial in maintaining law and order, adding that community cooperation remains key in fighting crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The SAPS continues to call on residents to report any criminal activities through the Crime Stop hotline at 08600 10111 or via the MySAPS app, ensuring that information shared remains confidential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
