The two are facing serious charges of possession of explosives after being arrested in the capital city earlier this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to police, the pair was stopped on 6 November 2025 while driving along Kgosi Mampuru Street in Pretoria. Upon searching their vehicle, officers reportedly discovered 26 units of blasting cartridges and 15 connector cap fuses \u2014 materials commonly used in mining and demolition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The suspects were immediately taken into custody and charged with unlawful possession of explosives. Police are still investigating the source and intended use of the explosives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During their brief court appearance, the case was postponed to 13 November 2025 for a formal bail application. Both Sikhala and Thema remain in police custody pending further investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sikhala, a well-known Zimbabwean politician and lawyer, has previously faced multiple arrests in his home country over political activism.
