The festive-season operational period will run from 1 December 2025 to 12 January 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nkomo-Ralehoko said the department is particularly concerned about road accidents, mass gatherings, and a likely rise in violence and trauma cases \u2014 all of which typically increase pressure on healthcare services in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs we enter the festive season, our healthcare system faces increased demand,\u201d she said. \u201cIt is our responsibility to ensure that our services are ready and that communities remain safe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the MEC, hospitals and clinics across all five Gauteng health districts have been placed on heightened alert, with resources allocated to meet expected needs.
