Olievenhoutbosch, Tshwane \u2013 The body of a man believed to be in his early thirties was recovered on Sunday morning, 21 December 2025, following a reported drowning incident in Olievenhoutbosch Extension 19.
According to the City of Tshwane Emergency Services Department, the incident was reported at approximately 08:02 along Mathotse Street, near Oripile Primary School. Fire and Rescue Services were immediately dispatched from Heuweloord Fire Station to the scene.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered the lifeless body of a male lying next to a flowing river. Members of the Community Emergency Response Team assessed the victim and confirmed that there were no signs of life. The scene was subsequently handed over to the South African Police Service (SAPS) for further investigation.
At this stage, the identity of the deceased has not been released, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under police investigation. No further information has been made available.
