Armed robbers stormed spaza shops in Diepsloot Extension 13 in the early hours of Thursday morning, leaving residents shaken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident occurred around 2-am near a local Chesa Nyama. Suspects reportedly fired multiple gunshots before breaking through a wall to gain access to nearby shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to residents, shopkeepers were heard screaming for help as the robbery unfolded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Community members quickly alerted police, who arrived on the scene within minutes. However, the suspects fled before officers could apprehend them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Witnesses say the suspects were overheard warning each other that police were on their way before fleeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cash, cell phones and cigarettes were among the items stolen, according to affected shopkeepers.
