Residents of parts of Diepsloot could soon see an end to months of electricity disruptions following the installation of a new Eskom transformer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to local ward councillor Julius Maake, Eskom has begun installing Transformer LCD 55\/53, a development expected to improve electricity supply in the affected areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The community has endured prolonged power outages for several months, leading to frustration among residents and concerns about the impact on households and local businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maake thanked residents for their patience during the lengthy process and acknowledged the cooperation between the community and local leadership in working towards a solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We appreciate the patience shown by community members and their willingness to work together with us while Eskom addressed the matter,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The councillor also urged residents with outstanding electricity-related debts and fines to make arrangements to settle their accounts, saying this would assist Eskom in maintaining and improving services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The installation of the transformer is expected to bring relief to affected residents, although Eskom has not yet indicated when electricity supply will be fully restored to all households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Community members have welcomed the development and expressed hope that normal electricity services will resume as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
