{"id":2373,"date":"2026-10-12T17:22:53","date_gmt":"2026-10-12T17:22:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/diepslootnews.co.za\/?p=2373"},"modified":"2026-10-12T17:22:53","modified_gmt":"2026-10-12T17:22:53","slug":"gauteng-ready-for-record-203794-matric-exam-candidates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/diepslootnews.co.za\/?p=2373","title":{"rendered":"GAUTENG READY FOR RECORD 203,794 MATRIC EXAM CANDIDATES"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>GAUTENG \u2013 Education MEC Lebogang Maile has confirmed the province\u2019s readiness for the 2026 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations, which begin on 13 October and end on 26 November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gauteng has registered a record 203,794 candidates, an increase of 11,049 from 2025. These include 152,527 full-time learners and 51,267 part-time candidates and repeaters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The province has prepared 1,065 examination centres, covering 77 subjects and 155 question papers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gauteng Department of Education says it has also processed examination accommodations and concessions for qualifying candidates, working with all 15 districts to support learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The department has wished the Class of 2026 well as they begin their examinations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GAUTENG \u2013 Education MEC Lebogang Maile has confirmed the province\u2019s readiness for the 2026 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations, which begin on 13 October and end on 26 November.
