SLOOT KIDS LEARN AND PLAY

SiyaDlala SiyaFunda comes to Diepsloot, North of Johannesburg.

Diepsloot Community got to experience the fun of the SiyaDlala SiyaFunda movement at House of Dorah’s Angels in Extension 6 [Six] were parents and guardians got to experience the importance of learning through play and that play creates an opportunity for children to learn some life’s most essential skills.

SiyaDlala SiyaFunda is a movement that helps encourage parents and caregivers to recognise the benefits of play, dedicate more time to play with their children and demand more space and time for play to happen in their homes, communities and classroom.

The movement started in Columbia , Rwanda and Brazil in 2019. It was launched in South Africa in June 2022.

Diepsloot children enjoyed the story telling from award-winning storyteller, poet, musician, actress and the SiyaDlala SiyaFunda Ambassador Mam Gcina Mhlophe.

“We look forward to sharing these special days with children, their parents, and guardians. The Mzansi Family Playdates hold so much potential to redefine not only how we play, but how we engage and connect on a human level. These experiences go beyond action and offer meaningful moments to build resilience and relationships,” Mhlophe said.

As various parts of Mzansi gather for playdays in their communities, the movement is encouraging parents and guardians to join a playday near you or set up one with your family and friends.

Create time to play, give our children a chance to learn in a relaxed, safe environment and share your pictures under the #SiyaDlalaSiyaFunda.
