Diepsloot police have arrested gang members who have been terrorising the community. The group is believed to be from Thembisa.
Station Commander Koena Moichelo said the criminals will travel from Tembisa to Diepsloot and randomly kill people and rob them dead.
“Through information from the community, we have identified a group coming from Thembisa. They will go and kill people randomly. Normally criminals will rob you, and if you resist, they will hurt you or kill you, but this group will kill you and search you as dead as you are,” said Moichelo.
One suspect was arrested in Ebony Park, Thembisa. After further investigation and interrogation, two other suspects were arrested this week. Police seized a firearm similar to a gun described by a victim of the gang.
In December, seven men were assaulted and set alight in a vigilante attack after residents accused them of being criminals. A meeting was subsequently held to draw up plans to address the increase in crime.
