DIEPSLOOT – A group of alleged gang members believed to be part of the GSG gang operating in Diepsloot Extensions 12 and 13 were apprehended over the weekend by the local crime prevention team.
The arrests were made on Saturday after the suspects were allegedly caught terrorizing residents with pangas and knives. The group is believed to be behind a series of assaults and robberies that have unsettled the community in recent weeks.
While these arrests mark a critical breakthrough, officials believe more members of the gang are still at large.“It’s important to note that this is not all of them, just a few. They claim to be part of the GSG group operating in Ext 12 and 13,” said a source familiar with the operation.
Residents who may have been assaulted or robbed by the suspects are urged to visit the Diepsloot Police Station to lay additional charges.“Your cooperation would be appreciated,” the source added.
Local crime prevention teams and community leaders have welcomed the arrests and are urging continued vigilance and community support to restore safety and order in the area.
