The City of Johannesburg’s MMC for Public Safety, Mgcini Tshwaku, has uncovered a hijacked property in Bryanston, prompting a high-impact enforcement operation.
The coordinated sweep — led by the Public Safety Department — includes JMPD, Immigration Officers, and other law-enforcement units who moved swiftly to stabilise the situation. Multiple arrests are currently being made on-site, and undocumented foreign nationals are being detained for processing.
MMC Tshwaku says the operation forms part of the ongoing Buya Mthetho Manje Namhlanje campaign, aimed at restoring law and order by targeting hijacked buildings, illegal occupations, and criminal operations across Johannesburg.
