DIEPSLOOT — Tragedy struck the community of Diepsloot after Dumisani Malebati, a young man reportedly stabbed with a knife, succumbed to his injuries shortly after walking himself to O.R. Tambo Clinic for help.
According to witnesses, Dumisani managed to reach the clinic despite severe bleeding. Medical staff at the facility attempted to save his life, but he unfortunately passed away due to excessive blood loss.
The incident has sparked an outpouring of grief and concern from community members — some blaming the clinic, while others call for a deeper look into the circumstances surrounding his death.
In a statement issued by Region A Health Forum Chairperson, Mr. Sicelo Shezi, condolences were extended to the Malebati family:> “We would like to express our deepest condolences to the family. May they find strength and comfort during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May Dumisani’s soul rest in peace.”
Mr. Shezi also urged the public to approach such sensitive matters with care:> “We advise community members to refrain from sharing comments or conclusions before a full investigation is completed.”
