CENTURION, LAEZONIA – A group of residents in Laezonia, Centurion, allege they were violently attacked by a group of over 50 private security guards who stormed their premises without any police presence or legal documents.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred recently when the security guards allegedly jumped over the gates of a private property and began physically assaulting those present. “They did not identify themselves or present any legal paperwork,” said one of the victims, who asked to remain anonymous for safety reasons.
The residents say they tried to open a case with the police, but officers refused to assist. “The police told us they won’t open a case because they believe we sell drugs.
But we were attacked for no reason,” said another individual. No warrant, legal order, or explanation was reportedly provided during or after the raid.
Victims say they fear for their safety and feel abandoned by the justice system. “We just want the police to give us answers and tell us what really happened,” one resident added.
Community members are calling for an independent investigation into both the conduct of the security company and the police’s refusal to take action.
This is a developing story. Diepsloot News will continue to follow up.
