OLIVENHOUTBOSCH, CENTURION – A male security guard has been arrested after allegedly masterminding a chilling plot to kidnap and murder a businessman who lives in the estate where he was employed.
According to authorities, the guard conspired to abduct the businessman, gain access to his finances, and ultimately kill him. Fortunately, law enforcement intercepted the plan before it could be carried out.
The suspect was arrested during a joint operation involving the South African Police Service (SAPS), Crime Intelligence, Gauteng Traffic Wardens, and R&D Risk Services.He was traced and apprehended while on duty in the Olivenhoutbosch policing area, just outside Centurion.
Investigators believe his position at the estate allowed him access to sensitive information about the victim, which he intended to exploit.
Police say the operation was intelligence-driven and that collaboration between state law enforcement and private security played a crucial role in foiling the plot.
The suspect is expected to appear in court soon, facing charges related to conspiracy to commit kidnapping and murder.Authorities continue to investigate the motive, though preliminary findings suggest financial gain was a key driver.
