The N12 westbound near the Diepkloof Interchange has been fully closed following a shooting incident, once again highlighting the impact of crime on major Johannesburg roads.
The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) confirmed that all lanes were shut to allow for investigations, with law enforcement and emergency services on scene.
Heavy traffic delays are being experienced as motorists divert.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes including Xavier Street, the M1, or the Golden Highway.
