Diepsloot residents are experiencing an unplanned water outage following a burst water pipe at the corner of Parks Mankahlana Street and Ukhozi Street, Extension 7. The incident, reported on 26 January 2026 at 10:00, caused water to gush from the pipe, leading to localized flooding.
A Johannesburg Water team has been dispatched to shut off the water supply and drain the affected line. All areas of Diepsloot are impacted by the disruption.
Johannesburg Water has assured residents that alternative water supply will be provided. Water tankers will be stationed at schools and clinics, while roaming tankers will service the remainder of the community.
The utility confirmed that the estimated time for the completion of repairs will be communicated once excavation work begins.
