Repair work on a burst water pipe in Diepsloot Extension 7 has been temporarily suspended due to unforeseen circumstances, Johannesburg Water has confirmed.
The pipe burst occurred at the corner of Parks Mankahlana Street and Ukhozi Street, resulting in an unplanned water interruption affecting all areas of Diepsloot.
The incident was first reported on Monday, 26 January 2026, prompting the deployment of a repair team to shut down the water supply and drain the affected pipeline.
According to Johannesburg Water, repair operations were halted at around 17:00 on Monday, with teams expected to resume work on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, in the morning.
In the meantime, the utility has arranged for alternative water supply to affected residents. Water tankers will be stationed at schools and clinics, while roaming tankers will service other parts of the community.
Johannesburg Water has apologised for the inconvenience caused and assured residents that further updates will be communicated as repairs progress.
Residents are urged to use available water sparingly while restoration efforts continue
