A man has been arrested in Honeydew, Johannesburg, after metro police officers discovered suspected illegal drugs during a routine patrol.
According to authorities, JMPD Tactical Response Unit (TRU) officers noticed a suspicious vehicle parked along Tailor Road with a male occupant inside. Officers approached the vehicle and conducted a search of both the man and his car.
During the search, two small clear zip-lock sachets containing substances believed to be “cat” drugs were found in the suspect’s pockets.
Further investigation led officers to the suspect’s residence in Cosmo City, where more suspected drugs were uncovered. Police found a bottle and a small bucket containing substances believed to be “cat” and crystal meth.
The suspect was arrested for possession of illegal substances and is currently being held at Honeydew SAPS.
