After five days of searching for a missing Mpumalanga businessman, human remains believed to be his have been discovered in the Komati River.
Police shot and killed one of the large crocodiles in the river during the search operation. Upon examining the animal, authorities recovered what are believed to be parts of the man’s body.
The 59-year-old businessman had been reported missing five days earlier, prompting an intensive search in the area.
Investigations are ongoing as officials work to formally identify the remains and determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
