A young boy believed to be between 10 and 11 years old was found injured on the N14 near Diepsloot, close to a petrol station, after he was reportedly struck by a vehicle.
The child was discovered by a passing truck driver, who stopped to assist after noticing him lying on the roadside.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and it is not yet known how long the boy had been there.
The man who found the child is appealing to the public for help in locating his family. Anyone who may recognise the boy or has information that could assist in identifying him is urged to come forward and contact the nearest police station or emergency services.
