Kaizer Chiefs have officially announced the appointment of Fernando da Cruz as their new Head Coach, with the French-born tactician set to take charge of the club from 1 July 2026.
The Soweto giants confirmed that Da Cruz has signed a two-year contract with an option to extend for a further year.
Da Cruz arrives at Naturena with an impressive coaching résumé and holds a UEFA Pro Licence, the highest coaching qualification in world football. His appointment signals Chiefs’ intent to strengthen the technical leadership of the club as they look to build on recent progress.
The experienced coach is no stranger to Amakhosi, having worked briefly with the team during a pre-season camp two years ago. Following that stint, he joined the Moroccan Football Federation, where he served as Technical Director until the end of June 2026.
In a statement, Kaizer Chiefs expressed confidence in Da Cruz’s ability to lead the club into a new era and help achieve its ambitions both domestically and on the continent.
Supporters will be eager to see the impact of the Frenchman when he officially assumes his role at the beginning of July, as preparations get underway for the upcoming season.
The appointment marks another significant step in Chiefs’ efforts to return to the summit of South African football and compete consistently for major honours.
