The three-year-old girl who was brutally assaulted in Lion Park is still in ICU after undergoing surgery.
According to her grandmother, the child is still in a critical condition. She revealed that the little girl suffered severe injuries that have left her unable to use her private parts or her anus. The grandmother added that the child will remain under close medical supervision for at least a week.
“She’s in pain… this is too much. Even her neck was damaged because she was stabbed,” the grandmother told Diepsloot News.
The family says the child’s mother is also struggling to cope with the trauma. “She’s not good at all — she’s weak and stressed,” the grandmother explained.
Community members and patrollers continue to search for Mlungisi Dlodlo (28), who is on the run. Dlodlo, a Zimbabwean national, had recently been released from prison before the attack.
The family has expressed gratitude to those assisting in the search and called on the community not to give up until he is found.
Police are urging residents not to confront the suspect directly, but to report any information to the nearest police station or call SAPS Crime Stop on 08600 10111 / 10111.
